“Surely the reason Christ said, ‘Father, forgive them,’ was because even in that terrible hour He knew that this was the message He had come through all eternity to deliver.”

  1. Porter and 5 of his team mates were flown to New York to be on Good Morning America on March 3. A large, black, Exursion limosine showed up in the small farming community of Loa, Utah yesterday to pick up the boys. A winter storm had closed most of the roads leading out of the county, but with a police escort, they were able to make thier flight. Four of the boys had never flown before and only one had ever been to New York. The six boys traveled alone, having already established themselves as trustworthy many times over. They stayed in a motel near Time’s Square, and after the program and before catching thier return flight, were taken on a tour of New York City. Porter, on national TV, expressed his plans to serve a mission upon graduation from college. He’s a great example for everyone.

  2. Thanks for the update, Jeff. I saw a report about this today. Porter’s a great young man and, as you say, a great example.

  3. I just saw the GMA story on Yahoo. What an inspiring thing that he focuses not on his talent, but his desire to serve the Lord. Way to go, kid! (And way to go magmeister for writing about him!)

  4. Thanks for the comment, Mark. It’s interesting how much traffic this blog is getting just because of Porter Ellett right now. I hope some of the visitors check out the New Era article about him. It gives him even more depth.
